Standardized Installation Process for Stainless Steel Pipe Fittings with Press Connection

The standardized installation process for press connection of stainless steel pipe fittings typically follows this sequence:
Preparation → Pipe Cutting → Marking → O-Ring Installation → Inserting Fitting → Pressing → Press Inspection → Finished Product Protection.

The detailed steps and key precautions are as follows:

1. Preparation and Pipe Cutting

Determine the pipe length based on the design drawings and site conditions. Cut the pipe using a dedicated pipe cutting tool (e.g., manual or electric pipe cutter). Do not use tools that generate high heat, such as grinders, for cutting. After cutting, use a dedicated deburring tool or a file to completely remove all burrs from both the inside and outside of the pipe end, to prevent damage to the sealing ring later.

2. Marking

Use a marking tool or a marker pen to draw a line on the pipe end indicating the insertion depth. This step ensures that the pipe is inserted deep enough into the fitting, preventing leakage or pull-out after pressing.
Typically, for nominal diameters of 10–25 mm, the marking line is 3 mm from the pipe end; for nominal diameters of 32–100 mm, the distance is 5 mm.

3. O-Ring Installation

Check that the O-ring rubber sealing ring inside the fitting port is correctly seated in the U-groove. Do not use any lubricating oil when installing the sealing ring.

4. Inserting the Fitting

Insert the pipe straight into the fitting without tilting, to avoid damaging or cutting the rubber sealing ring. After insertion, check the distance between the fitting end and the previously made marking line to ensure the pipe is fully inserted.

5. Pressing

Align the annular groove of the dedicated pressing tool's jaw with the annular boss at the fitting end (where the sealing ring is housed). Ensure that the jaw is perpendicular to the pipe axis, then activate the tool to perform the press. When the jaw is fully closed or a slight vibration is felt, the pressing process is complete.

6. Press Inspection

Use the corresponding hexagonal gauge to verify that the pressed section is correctly formed. If the pressed hexagon fits completely into (or can be inserted into) the hexagonal gauge, the press quality is acceptable.

7. Finished Product Protection

Protect the installed pipes by wrapping them with plastic film or similar material to prevent contamination or damage from subsequent construction work.
